If you were there last year you will probably have noticed the 500 + brightly coloured and extremely creative flags dotted around the park? These were made lovingly by children from primary schools all over York and this year they are getting involved again. They made a great visual splash about the park and it was fascinating (and some quite moving) to read what they said peace means to them.
Peace Garden
Dylan is working in conjunction with City of York Council, Friends of Rowntree Park and Brunswick Organic Nursery to create a permanent peace and sensory garden in Rowntree Park. The aim is for it to be a beautiful place of tranquility and reflection as well as a sensory experience making it accessible for everyone.
At the Peace Festival you will get the chance to contribute your own ideas about what you would like to see in the peace garden. Get your plan from the peace tent or the Brunswick stall and grab the chance to turn your ideas into a blooming reality!
